Closing Market News September 21, 2007







The Dow closed up 53.49 at 13,820.19 and the Nasdaq closed up 16.93 at 2671.22. Transports closed up 12.97 at 4827.36.

Total volume on the NYSE was above average because of triple witching trading 2.00 billion shares. Up/down volume was 2.44 to 1 positive, Nasdaq up/down volume was 2.06 to 1 positive.

Dec. E-mini S&P futures closed up 2.75 at 1534.50 and the Dec. Nasdaq 100 futures closed up 10.75 at 2068.50. Dec. E-mini S&P futures total volume was below average trading 1.33 million contracts. Dec. 30 Yr. T-Bond futures closed up 0-16 at 110-24.

Nov. Oil futures closed down .16 at 81.62 and Nov. Natural Gas futures closed up .01 at 6.99.

Dec. Gold futures closed down 1.00 at 738.90 and Dec. Silver futures closed up .15 at 13.62.

Grains were mixed with Dec. Wheat up 24 cents at 8.74, Nov. Beans closed down 9 ½ cents at 9.78, and Dec. Corn closed up 7 ¼ at 3.76 ½.

Dec. Live Cattle futures closed up 1.225 at 110.175 and Nov. Feeder Cattle closed up 0.875 at 116.375. Dec. Lean Hogs closed down 0.975 at 63.800.

AS I SEE IT: The E-mini S&P traded higher overnight, but sold off a little during the regular trading session. Still they closed higher on the day. Now I’ll have to see if there is a little move downside, or if the market continues the rally from here. Our short, intermediate, and long-term trading strategies are all long.

Using our Day-Trading Strategies we did very well in the E-mini S&P and the Grains today. I didn’t trade the Oil market
